캐플란교육원 입니다. 저희팀에서 한국어학생과 부모님을 담당하는 방재준 카운슬러 입니다.

This is Kaplan Educational Group. This is Jae Bang, who is in charge of Korean-speaking students and clients in our group.

저희 교육원의 Admissions Philosophy는 학생의 장점을 최대한 발굴하여 입학성적에서 최상의 결과를 만들어 내는 것입니다. (엑티비티지도부터 에세이.인터뷰까지 입학지원 전과정) 저는 이러한 과정을 통해 학생들을 Harvard, Yale, Penn(Huntsman, Wharton), Cornell등 여러 아이비리그와 상위 대학에 진학 시켰습니다. 

KEG’s admissions philosophy is to identify each student’s strengths, build on them, and guide them entirely from activities to essays to interviews. Thanks to this approach, we’ve sent students to Harvard, Yale, Penn (Huntsman/Wharton included), Cornell, and other high-ranking colleges. 

간단히 제 소개를 하겠습니다.  

I will briefly introduce myself.

저는 한국에서 태어나 대치초등학교를 졸업하고, 주재원으로 부임하는 아버지를 따라 미국으로 이주하여  아리조나주 소재 공립 중.고등학교를 수석(Valedictorian)으로 졸업하고 아이비리그대학 중하나인 U-Penn에 Biochemestry major로 진학하였습니다. 학부에서는 PPE(Philosophy, Politicis & Economics)를 전공하였으며, 우등생(Magma cum laude) 으로 졸업하였고, Columbia 로스쿨에 진학하였습니다.

I was born and raised in Korea and came to the US (Arizona) with my father, who was working for a US-based office of a Korean company. There, I attended public middle and high school, graduating as a Valedictorian. I then got into Penn as a biochemistry major and graduated as a PPE major with magna cum laude. I attended Columbia Law School.

졸업후 변호사가 되어 6년간 뉴욕과 샌프란시스코 소재 로펌에서 근무하였습니다. 그후 어린시절 꿈이었던 패션 디자인 공부를 하고자 파슨스 패션스쿨에 진학하여 일년반 동안 전문지식을 쌓았으며, 이기간 동안 로스쿨 입학시헙 준비학생들을 틈틈히 지도 했습니다. 또한 카네기멜론(컴퓨터 공학)을 졸업하고 현재는 조지아텍 박사과정에서 공부하는 동생의 진학 지도를 도우면서, 진학 카운슬링분야에서 저의 재능을 발견하고, 저만의 노하우를 갖게 되었습니다.

Thereafter, practicing law in New York and San Francisco law firms for 6 years. Thereafter, I attended Parson Fashion Design for 1.5 years in order to fulfill my childhood dream of studying fashion design, and during this time, I spent my spare time instructing students preparing for the law school admissions test. In addition, I helped my brother who graduated from Carnegie Mellon (Computer Engineering) is attending Georgia Tech for a Ph.D. in his admissions journey, and like this, I discovered my value proposition in admissions counseling and develop my know-how.
